Herman “Bud” K. Flood IV passed away at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest in Allentown on Wednesday, April 12, his obituary says.
Born and mostly raised in Sussex County, Bud had an incredible sense of humor and an endlessly inquisitive mind. From accomplishing feats and earning titles like Student of the Month, singer, and motorcyclist, Bud was used to “playing any role he saw fit.”
“Bud was curious, joyful, and loved getting into mischief, you could say he was a handful only he was the innocent kind; the kind of mischief you knew came from a kind soul,” reads his obituary. “A playful big brother. A doting son to all his parents. A warm-hearted soul. A best friend.”
Bud’s compassionate nature was reflected in everything he did, says his memorial.
“Many things can describe Bud but it will never be able to capture the…burst of personality when he was joking around or provoke the genuine feeling of love he had for all the people in his life,” reads his obituary. “It will never capture the essence of who he is. He always had a light radiating around him.”
Bud is survived by his father, Herman K. Flood, III; his mother, Brandee Grieco; his foster parents, Dora Wasson and her husband Wilbur; his brothers, Ryder and Gunnar; his sisters, Averie, Destinee, and Everlee; his paternal grandmother, Veronica “Ronnie” Flood; his maternal grandfather, Angelo Grieco, his paternal aunts, Veronica “Aunt Sid,” Cortney, and Shelby; his maternal uncles, Thomas, Joshua, AJ, and Chandler; and many more.
Meanwhile, more than $3,600 had been raised on a GoFundMe for Bud’s funeral expenses as of Friday, April 14. A MealTrain based in Dingmans Ferry, PA was launched as well.
Bud’s memorial was scheduled for Tuesday, April 18 at Pinkel Funeral Home in Sussex.
“God has called home the most beautiful, charismatic, carefree, kind, loving, perfect little boy he ever placed in our lives,” reads the campaign. Our lives have been forever changed. The love we have for this little boy I can't even begin to put into words…During this difficult time, please find it in your heart to help, even if it’s just a share.”
